The Arenal Lodge is set amongst beautiful tropical gardens and surrounded by verdant rainforest overlooking the mirror-like Lake Arenal. Offering majestic views of the active Arenal Volcano, the Arenal Lodge provides its guests with distinctive amenities and relaxing comfort in one of Costa Rica’s most picturesque landscapes.

The Arenal Lodge has 12 junior suites, 1 luxurious master suite, and 6 standard doubles that can accommodate up to 42 guests, and includes such amenities as a fireplace, a game room complete with pool table, library and bar. Rooms feature private bath with hot water, one queen size and one single bed, fan, safety box and balcony – most with spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano. Chalets offer a kitchenette with small refrigerator.

Situated on a macadamia plantation between two strips of virgin forest, the lodge has several trails that are great for bird watching. Guests may wonder along paths that meander through lush tropical gardens sprinkled with vibrant flowers, colorful butterflies and exotic birds. An inner patio solarium features tropical plants, ferns, flowers and a wide variety of orchids.

Meals are served in a dining room with a glass wall facing the volcano. Here guests may enjoy a wide selection of tasty international and local dishes stylishly presented by a gourmet chef. After dinner, guests can retire to the library, where there's a huge stone fireplace and a pool table, or soak in the outdoor Jacuzzi. A separate lounge has a TV and VCR.
The lodge offers a wide variety of tours and attractions for guests to choose from. These include visits to Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, sport fishing in Lake Arenal, thermal springs, hiking tours to Arenal Volcano, horseback riding to Fortuna River Waterfall, and an enlightening tour of a butterfly farm.
The Arenal Lodge is located in the San Carlos area, three and a half hours driving time from San Jose.
