La Quinta de Sarapiquí Lodge is an idyllic country inn situated on the banks of the scenic Sardinal River. Its location, just minutes from world class river rafting, mountain biking trails and the vast Braulio Carrillo National Park, make it the ideal place for discovering the adventure and beauty of Costa Rica’s warm Caribbean lowlands.

A family-run lodge, La Quinta de Sarapiquí boasts 25 bungalows set amid rich tropical gardens of helicons, ginger, palms and flowering trees. Accommodations are meticulously maintained and feature comfortable beds, ceiling fan, private bathroom with hot water, and a terrace with views of the surrounding gardens.

The charming open-air restaurant features traditional Costa Rican specialties that include rice and beans, soup, seafood and delicious fresh fruits and vegetables, many from La Quinta de Sarapiqui’s organic garden. Here guests may attend cooking classes, available by special arrangement with the chef and co-owner of the lodge, or simply stop by throughout the day for freshly brewed Costa Rican coffee.
By the pool, guests may relax in comfortable hammocks as they gaze at the Sardinal River moving slowly toward the sea.

In addition to its private bungalows, pool, and fine dinning, the nine-acre compound has a library, frog and butterfly gardens, ponds and extensive wheel chair accessible trails that wind deep into the lush rainforest. Here visitors may take advantage of some of the most spectacular bird watching opportunities in the country, species include hummingbirds, toucans, woodpeckers, and scores of other native birds.

Guests at La Quinta de Sarapiquí Lodge may visit La Galería Butterfly & Insect Museum to marvel at a dynamic presentation of butterflies, beetles and other fascinating rainforest creatures. They may also visit La Quinta Butterfly Garden, a habitat for many different species of Costa Rican butterflies. The butterfly garden provides an opportunity for guests to photograph, enjoy, learn and interact with the butterflies.
