Preserve, the Trapp Family Lodge transports guests into a realm of soothing

as a base for nature excursions. This cozy tropical wood inn blends flawlessly into the lush surrounding rain forest, offering guests tranquility and privacy near one of Costa Rica’s premier nature preserves. The Trapp Family Lodge’s twenty rustic-style rooms are comfortably furnished and feature a private balcony, two queen size beds, bathroom with hot water shower, closets and table with chairs. Dining at the Trapp Family Lodge is a leisurely affair, where the food is healthy, tasty and good. Guests may enjoy home cooked meals in an airy dining room fronted by huge picture windows and a balcony overlooking gardens and verdant rain forest. Exotic vegetation surrounds the property on all sides creating a restful ambiance. While at the Trapp Family Lodge, guests may take peaceful walks through the many well-marked trails that wind through the surrounding rain forest, or simply relax on their own private balcony while gazing at the sun slowly dip behind the orchid draped trees. A wide variety of tours and activities are available for guests to enjoy. These include fascinating visits to the Butterfly Garden, Orchid Garden and an exciting canopy tour. No trip to this area is complete without a visit to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve. Here guests will witness an astonishing diversity of plant and animal species, including many rarely observed endangered species such as the jaguar and the exotic and dazzling quetzal. Guests may hike, or ride on horseback through verdant rainforests to towering waterfalls and crystal clear pools. Within this preserve is the SkyWalk - a unique system of seven suspension bridges that zigzag through deep canyons at the level of the treetops.
