Café Britt Coffee Tour

You can learn all about Costa Rica’s world-famous coffee on our Coffee Tour. Café Britt takes you through the entire production process of the world’s most famous beverage. The coffee plantation lies at the foot of the Poás and Barva volcanoes, offering a breathtaking backdrop to the fascinating multimedia presentation that introduces guests to the entire process, from the flowering coffee bushes to a rich cup of gourmet Costa Rican coffee. Theatrics abound, making for a light-hearted and fun way to discover how the beans are harvested, roasted, and packaged.

For many, the end of the tour is the highlight. Guests will participate in a “cupping” session, where they will learn to recognize the distinct flavors and aromas of true gourmet coffees. This popular tour is offered year round, and from December to March, the Coffee Tour also takes visitors to the Museum of Popular Culture, which is housed in a restored coffee plantation house.
