The Pacuare Jungle Lodge
Enshrouded
within this primal habitat on the banks of this enchanting river stands
the Pacuare Lodge. In its quest to minimize environmental impact, the
lodge was designed and built to merge with the surrounding habitat. Guests
of the lodge are freely able to enjoy this pristine rainforest environment
by taking advantage of the many opportunities for hiking, bird watching,
or simply relaxing among enormous trees and jungle creatures who live
in harmony alongside the lodge itself. The Pacuare Lodge has been recognized
by the World Tourism Organization as 1 of only 65 examples throughout
the world of good practice in sustainability and ecotourism.
This rustic styled two-story eco-lodge comes with a comfortable dining
area on the first floor, and an outside lounge on the second floor with
sitting areas and hammocks. The guest rooms are modern wooden bungalows
with thatched palm roofs, meticulously designed in an indigenous style
in order to blend with the surrounding environment. Veiled within an ancient
forest that has stood for centuries, each bungalow comes equipped with
private bathroom and shower, freshly linened beds and an ambience that
will assure you a well-deserved rest among the bewitching fragrances of
this tropical paradise. For an even more exceptional experience, reserve
our honeymoon suite.
For the busy explorer, a two-day, overnight stay at the lodge is an excellent
option. But with so many exciting things to do in this exotic refuge,
why not add an additional night or two and allow yourself the opportunity
to really experience the captivating magnificence of this zone. A variety
of optional tours are available—from the highest
Original Canopy Tour in Costa Rica to enriching cultural interactions
with the native inhabitants. These tours are available to enhance your
stay, whether it’s one night or several. Getting
there and back from this rainforest environment was once only possible
via an exhilarating rafting trip through class III and IV rapids. While
this is still an excellent way to experience the Pacuare Lodge and its
environment, you now have the option to choose a variety of alternatives,
which include entry or exit by land, or a combination of both river and
land transportation.
